Antique New Wharf Pottery tureen. Circa 1890's.
New Wharf Pottery was started in Stoke on Trent in England in 1877.
They made a lot of beautiful flow blue pottery, and this piece is a fine example.
New Farm Pottery is hard to find, especially in Australia, and I am lucky enough
to have a few pieces, including plates and a platter.
Very good condition and lovely shape.
It has a couple of glazing defects as shown which is typical for pottery of this age.
This includes a skim to the glaze on the rim (shown).
No chips or cracks. No crazing.
It measures 33.5cm long (including handles) x 18cm and stands 14cm high (including lid)
The photos describe it well.
I will be listing lots of vintage china and collectables from
our recent trip to Europe, and am happy to combine postage.
