Swedish Gustavian painted pine long case clock with German 8 day movement. Provenance from Danish clock maker attached , dating back to 1781 , the hand painted dial with the name of the original owner. Original carved pine case with Gustavian fluted reed carving to door and circular raised motif to base.
A later 19th century 8 day mechanism with twin weights and chain driven, so no need to wind up, is very good working order. the chain is pulled down at one end and raised the counter weight on the other end.

Although we try to ensure all the descriptions are true and correct, due to the number of sales we are listing, sometimes errors occur So when we reluctantly end a listing early it is because there is an error in the listing …but not to worry, it will soon be re-listed with the correct information unless sold prior. We know buyers trust us to do the right thing, and our excellent reputation means: reliability. All items are checked thoroughly to ensure :drawers and runners operate smoothly and open, locks with keys all work, hinges and other mechanisms are complete unless indicated.
We do supply lots of images for bidders to look at and invite you to inspect prior if you wish to view the item personally. Please contact us prior so that we can arrange to have the item available. Due to the limitations imposed on all sellers if you require larger clearer images then please email us directly, rather than through eBay so we can reply with better bigger images for each sale.
